We had quite the cloud burst last evening. You can't tell too much by looking at the picture but it was pretty intense. I was trying to get a shot of the lightening, but it did not happen to the point of getting a good shot. The thunder was really loud. Evan and I were outside sitting under the eave of the house watching it but decided we'd better go in the house.
On our walk this morning, you could see evidence everywhere of what this storm did. It must have come fast and furious to make water run down the mountain gullies so fast that it left parts like this in the road in 3-4 places.
You can see where it ran down the side of the road, causing destruction in it's path. Here it bared the roots of sagebrush.
Took out pieces of the road.
Took down fence posts.
And at this point, it destroyed a family's driveway, filling the pipe with masses of debris. I didn't post the mailbox from the inside but they must have stood it up after the storm because it had lots of mud on the inside.
But.................when you take your eyes from the destruction, you still have the privilege of witnessing the beauty that surrounds this valley.
