Farmers/Ranchers...A Very Hard Working People

These pictures were taken on August 1, 2012.  I wasn't going to post them but I was sitting here today, looking at these pictures and I thought...........why not.  It depicts the very hard work that farmers/ranchers put into their days.  The first picture has nothing to do with farming/ranching unless you look at it from the point-of-view that the bright moon aided in showing a little light to see in the night.

Farmers/Ranchers are a very dedicated, hard working people.  As for my husband, he starts his day at 4:30a.m., going out to change the wheel lines and get the water going on the fields before coming in to get his breakfast, get dressed and head out the door to his day-time job.  When he gets home, he stops long enough to bring in his lunch box, get a drink of water and head out the door again to change the wheel lines on the fields.  Makes for long days and that's not including all the other work of getting the fields ready, planting, watering, cutting...............................!  With the changing of times, my husband does all the tending to the fields and cutting, but we do not have the updated equipment to bale the larger bales (which everyone wants now) so that part we hire out, along with the stacking of the bales.  I'm kind of glad about that because it's one less thing my husband has to do.  The below pictures are of the person we hired to bale and stack the hay, and yes, it's very late and dark.  In the second picture and to the right-hand side, you can barely make out the details of a person standing by the tractor...........that would be my husband.  He took out an ice cream sandwich for the worker.

A farmers life is like a woman's---work is never done. Up early, work all day then up at night with children. And just think, both professions are by choice.

So true. Dad's the hardest worker I know. It was nice of him to take out ice cream sandwiches.
