Heading For Cover

Evan and I went to a neighborhood/friends cook out last night.  When we first arrived, it was a perfect night....not too hot, and not too cold.  But, and I would totally exaggerate on the but............we weren't there 15 minutes when the weather totally broke lose.  When we got there, there wasn't any leaves on the ground but when the wind started up, there were leaves all over and we had to grab all the chairs to keep them from blowing into the fire.  The leaves were coming so fast and furious that when they hit our faces, it actually stung a bit.  The fire was so nice...too bad we didn't get to enjoy it.

It didn't take us long too to start heading for cover.  It hadn't rained in over a month and wouldn't you know it....yes, it started raining.  The storage house protected us quite a bit from the wind and rain.  Even though the weather did not cooperate, we still had a great time visiting and eating.  The food is always good when we have one of these get-togethers.

You can see how black the clouds turned and if you look at the trees, you can see how hard the wind was blowing.  Just as we were all getting ready to leave, the wind and rain stopped and the sky was turning blue.  But, the fire had almost died out so we all left.

Again this morning, it was raining and the sky was black.  Isn't the tree in this photo beautiful.  I thought it was gorgeous how it was all green except for the tips.
