Hoover Halloween

Halloween night in our small little town is high with anticipation.  The reason......the HOOVER HOUSE!  The buzz all over school/town is about going to the Hoover house.  A few days before Halloween, you start to see the blackbirds on top of the roof, the clue that it's on it's way.  All these blackbirds were handmade by Mr. Hoover.  The main crow on the chimney stays up year round and wears different attire for various holidays.

This is the hot spot of the year.  The Hoover's (Mr. Hoover) plans everything out and goes to the extreme to decorate.  It was darker this year so the photos aren't as good as in previous years but the enjoyment was top notch.

I decided to go back the next morning and get a few pictures in daylight.  Not the same affect but you get the gist.  The third, fourth and fifth pictures are of Mr. Hoovers grave/bone yard.  The entire field next to his home was covered with crossed grave markers, bones, and skulls.

The following pictures were taken last year.  Each year is different and just as exciting as the last.  If you like Halloween, this is the place to be.

I don't think I could convince my kids to trick or treat that house.

We made it through last year, and the year before that, but the tunnel this year was too much for Rylee. Her and Lafe started crying and wouldn't go through it. Mrs. Hoover came out to give them some candy, though. Dax is still talking about the monsters he saw there.
