Loaf of Love

I made a loaf of bread yesterday and was slicing it using my vintage Presto Bread Slicing Guide (which I Love) that my mother gave me many years ago......................................

When I was close to the middle of the loaf, I noticed a near perfect heart at the top of one slice.
It's been nearly 12 years this coming May, that my mother passed away.  Finding that heart hidden in that slice of bread sure made me think of her.  I am so grateful for the knowledge I have that Families Can Be Together Forever!

Hi Marsha~

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and a very happy new year!

I am so amazed at all the snow in your neck of the woods! It reminds me of when I was little, and the snow would be almost to the phone lines! It really is so beautiful. How lucky you are to live in such a beautiful part of the world.

I love that little heart. . . it made me smile. Isn't it funny the little things that make us think of our beloved parents . . . I'm sure she was smiling too.

I also love the bread slicer. My husband would be very happy for me to have a slicer, I'm really bad at slicing bread, skinny on one side, fat on the other!

Hugs,
Barb

It is amazing the little things that you find that remind you of a loved one. I think that heart in the bread was a little smile from heaven.
I love the idea of a bread slicer. Homemade bread and jam sounds so good right now. Maybe a cup of hot chocolate too. Hugs for you~

How lovely! That bread slicing guide is great and I truly believe that was a little sign from your mother that she loves you and is with you. True story - my dad gave my girls a Christmas music box carousel a couple of years before he died. He died on Dec. 17, 1987. We had our Christmas decorations up and that music box carousel was on top of high bookshelf because our girls were little and we didn't want them to break it. Just after receiving the phone call that he had passed, that music box carousel began playing on its own - no one had been anywhere near it. It was a sweet testimony to me that life goes on and our loved ones are there waiting for us on the other side.
