Another time change……………daylight saving time ended last evening which meant changing all the clocks in the house back one hour. I have a few old, temperamental clocks in our home that do not like the change. While changing these two clocks, each and every time, the longer hand/minute hand falls off. It’s not easy putting them back on, making time change a pain. Not just the clocks in our home, but my internal clock takes quite awhile to adjust to each time change, too. My thoughts are that instead of changing an hour here and and hour there that we could just change it a half hour and be done with it. Leave it that way all-year-round. Done! Hmmmmm. This morning we woke up to our first signs of snow. Not much, but enough to confirm that winter is on its way. Winter is a love hate relationship for me. I don’t do well with the cold but I do love a fresh blanket of snow on the ground. Pretty, white and refreshing. Dashing Through the Snow….In a One Horse Open Sleigh…O'er the Fields We Go…Laughing All the…………………………… Makes for a fun, pretty, in-your-mind picture, doesn’t it?!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies
As I was sitting at the table this morning after eating my breakfast, I looked over at the cookie jar and decided I needed me a little breakfast dessert. While eating my dessert (pumpkin chocolate chip cookie) and thinking how delicious it was, I decided to blog about it. It was a new recipe I found on the internet and decided to make it yesterday. I doubled the batch (cause of course….2.5 dozen is just not enough for my husband….aka…..sweet-a-holic!) and tweaked the ingredients a bit adding nutmeg and cloves. These cookies are really moist and you can see where I dug them out of the cookie jar to take photos. There are gooey crumbs and part peeled off cookie tops in the photos. Really, they are that good and a must blog recipe. Make them, for sure……you’ll be glad you did!
Hmmmmm, going back over the recipe, I don’t remember adding vanilla. Oh well, still a great tasting cookie….vanilla or not ????.

Wild Daisy’s???
But this is what surprised me the most. Even though we’ve had some pretty hard freezes the past two weeks, these little wild daisy’s were all along the side of the road leading to the bridge.
After looking on the net, I’ve found these little flowers to be quite interesting. They are actually called Chamomile (I have heard of the name before). Anyway they look just like the flowers I was looking at. According to this site, it states that Chamomile is definitely one of the most popular wild medicinal plants that can be eaten. The two main types of chamomile are the more popular German chamomile and Roman chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile). Although they belong to different species, they are used to treat the same health ailments in herbal pharmacy. Both are used to calm frayed nerves, help in soothing various stomach problems, reduce muscle spasms, and to treat several skin conditions. Hmmm, I never knew any of this. And all along I thought I was just looking at a pretty, little, wild daisy. I do know after today, they are obviously a very hearty, little plant.

Stroller/Walker Jean Bags
OK, remember This Post, where I briefly talked about a stroller bag that I made for my daughter so we would have something to place our items in for the town BBQ. Well, from there, a different bag was in the makings. A cousin visited our home a few weeks ago and I showed her one of the stroller bags and she commented that it would be nice to make them to hang on walkers, too. What a genius idea! As it so happened, I have a walker in my home that I purchased to give to my sister. The bags are very simple to make using an old pair of jeans. As a Relief Society project, we are planning on making these to give to the elderly in our area. Fun!
For our Relief Society Super Saturday last weekend, I made some bags for display and I also made an instruction handout for anyone wanting to make these bags. Super easy to make and very useful.
