Hauling Leaves - Cattle Drive

I posted a little while ago about all the leaves on our front yard that needed to be raked up.  In the picture below, it shows the leaves on the ground plus lots of leaves still hanging to tree branches..
I'm thankful for the warmer weather that has been hanging on because it gave the tree time to drop all its leaves and it gave me time to get them all raked up.  On Friday evening (November 11th), I decided to tackle the chore.  It was wonderful raking the leaves because it was a cooler evening.  I raked all the leaves into the bar pit (a roadside borrow pit dug for drainage purposes. Expand. Also called bar pit, bar ditch) along the side of the road.  I was going to take my pictures on Friday evening but I thought pictures would look better in the morning with the sun than in the dull evening of the previous day.  By holding off though, the leaf piles settled quite a lot and the weren't nearly as big as the night before.
Oh, and don't try adjusting your monitor screens......there is nothing wrong on your end.....our fence is really that crooked.

It was such a beautiful, crisp morning when I went out to take pictures....somewhere close to 9:30am.

And shortly after taking pictures, along came a cattle drive so my husband and I stood in the entry ways to our home to block the cattle from accessing our yard.

And right after the cattle drive, along came my knight in shining armor, on his trusty blue steed, to gather up all the leaves to till into our garden spot.

Later that day, I needed to go and check on a neighbors home and I took a few more photos.  It was just totally a beautiful day!

It does look like such a lovely day! I loved the photos of your land and the surroundings. The cattle drive photos and video brought back memories from my youth watching cattle drives. At one time my Dad had a small ranch and also a farm in two different areas. Great photos of your hubby getting the piles of leaves for your garden. Enjoyed reading about this one! Hugs~

Hi!!

I'm so glad the leaves are all off of our trees - your were beautiful, the photo where it was only leaves in the photo, was gorgeous! Those wonderful...steeds, are amazing, my husbands is gold!

It was fun to see the cattle drive, they are truly one of those things that you only see in very rural places. We used to have cattle come down out road all the time when we lived in Blackfoot, not here. Although, on some of these roads, they still drive sheep down the road.

It is so beautiful there!! You are very blessed!

Hugs,
Barb
