Home Town BBQ

Today was our home town BBQ at the city tourist park. The BBQ is held every year at this time and everyone is invited to attend. For free, you get a BBQ sandwich with all the toppings, (pickles, onions, mustard, ketchup, & mild salsa) and a bag of chips. There are also many booths around that sell drinks, scones, pie & ice cream, popcorn, salads…..just to name a few. It’s a fun time for all. Here is a picture of the line you go through to get your sandwich. It looks long, but the line actually moves pretty fast.

While everyone was in line, someone sang the Star Spangled Banner.  It was beautiful, while everyone had a moment of silence and listened to the song.  Afterwards, everyone cheered and clapped.  God Bless the USA!

While waiting in line to get your BBQ sandwich, during eating, and just while visiting, everyone is entertained from various artist from around the valley and even some not from the valley.  The BBQ is definitely a fun time for all.  We arrived at noon, didn't leave till around 2:45, and the entertainment was still going strong.  I really enjoy sitting up my chair and listening to the entertainment and people watching.  There's something to be said for small, hometown atmosphere.
