Kindle Fire Volume Fix

Last evening I was trying to watch a video of my grandson that my son-in-law posted on Instagram.  I could bring up the video, but my Kindle Fire HD 7 had no sound.  Nothing….totally nothing.  I was devastated because though I rarely use the sound on my Kindle, I do use it when I’m with my grandson.  Thinking my Kindle was broken, I shut it down and went to sleep.  This morning, I decided to try and see if a Google search could solve my problem.  BINGO – problem solved….I now have sound on my Kindle.  THIS MAY NOT WORK for everyone but it sure worked for me!  Happy Dance………………

Below are the steps I took that restored my Kindle volume:

1.  From your Kindle, touch the “APPS” button along the top of your Kindle Tools bar.
Capture

2.  Touch the Store button at the top right-hand corner.
3.  Touch where it says “Search Appstore”, and type in “quickmute volume control”.
4.  Two apps will show on your screen.  One for QuickMute Volume Control (Free). and QuickMute (no ads).  Touch the one that is free.
5.  Download it.
6.  Go back to your home page screen, found on lower left-hand side of your Kindle screen. GUID-7B6A66C2-2600-4B3F-92B5-373C1FC6E0AE_en-US
7.  Wait for a few minutes…….if the QuickMute  Volume Control Icon
is not showing on the carousel, touch “Apps” found along the top of your Kindle Tools bar.  Check in Cloud and Device to see if the QuickMute Volume Control Icon is there.  If it isn’t, you will need to Sync your Kindle.  To do this, go back to your home page, touch the area at the very top of your Kindle and swipe your finger down towards the center of the Kindle.  You will see this screen pop up……..touch Sync.image

8.  Once you have synced your Kindle, touch anywhere in the middle of the screen to make the sync page disappear and bring up your home page.  Wait a few minutes then go back to the Kindle Tools bar and touch the “Apps” button, once again check in Cloud and Device to see if the QuickMute Volume Control is there.  If it is, touch it and download it.  After it is downloaded, open it up.  You will see a screen that looks similar to this:

Touch the Master Volume Control button and slide it all the way to the right.  This should raise all your volume controls.  Exit out of this App by touching your home button, then TURN YOUR KINDLE OFF.
9.  After waiting for 20 seconds, or so, turn your Kindle back on.  Once your Kindle is fully re-booted, you should be able to control the volume by using the volume button on your Kindle.

Husband and Daughter Planting Garden

Just after our daughter made her surprise visit on Memorial Day weekend, she headed out to the garden with her dad to start planting.  It was such a beautiful evening and they actually planted most of the entire garden.  My husband takes pride in his garden skills every year, but in all honesty, I sometimes get tired of all the canning.  You know, the old grey mare she ain’t…………………..  Although, thanks to a good friends knowledge, she taught me a much easier way to shell out the peas.  I may get tired, but the rewards far out way the task of canning.
The tall fence around the perimeter of our garden works great for keeping out the deer but it does absolutely nothing for the bunnies.  The bunnies are so cute but not when it comes to gardening.  Year before last they took out quite a few of our beets.  I guess they were feeling sorry for me and decided to help me out by getting rid of some of the produce – Ha!
When it comes right down to it, yes, a garden is a lot of work, but only in a garden can you feel so much satisfaction about what you’ve accomplished.  Well, unless you want to count your children….but then again, there we have a whole new story!
As I type this blog, I am reminded of the words of the Prophet, Ezra Taft Benson, stating this…….The revelation to produce and store food may be as essential to our temporal welfare today as boarding the ark was to the people in the days of Noah.

The Beauty of Bridle Wreath Spirea

A few years back, a lot of our bridle wreath spirea winter killed.  But, as I walked out my door today and noticed the beauty of what we still have left, I SMILED!

Rainbow of Love

A beautiful rainbow that covered the entire sky last week was beyond aweness.  The longer it stayed there, the more vibrant it became.  I was searching the internet to find a poem or quote about rainbows that I could post with my photos.  I found this saying…..Just because you can’t touch something doesn’t mean it can’t touch you, for example “Love”.  This quote fits perfectly about what I am feeling while looking at rainbows.  My first thought was to just type the first part of the quote and leave off the last part (for example “Love”).  The more I thought about it, the more I felt that I needed to leave the last part on because I thought of the love our Heavenly Father has for each and everyone of us.  To GIFT us with something so AMAZING after a storm, proves that love.  So with rainbows and Heavenly Father in mind, I type the entire quote to go with my photos……….  JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN’T TOUCH SOMETHING DOESN’T MEAN IT CAN’T TOUCH YOU, FOR EXAMPLE “LOVE”.
