Earlier this past week, I was out sitting on our new two-seater sling swing that our daughter, Brittney bought for us back in May. Love, love, love this swing. Since having it, I have sat out most every evening and enjoyed looking at our beautiful country view and watching our little crew of hummingbirds. I’m telling you, this is the most comfortable yard swing that I have ever sat on. I think I have used this gift more than any other gift I have ever received. It’s been wonderful sitting out in the evenings, and best of all………….NO MOSQUITOES in sight. I guess that’s one good thing you could say for a drought year. Without the moisture, you get no mosquitoes!
Here is a picture of our daughter and son-in-law, Corey, putting together our new swing.
Anyways, back to the story………..as I was sitting there enjoying the evening, 3 four-point bucks entered our yard and were eating the apples off our tree, obviously, they had not noticed me sitting there. I kept very quiet and observed them walking around eating apples from the tree when a thought occurred to me……….wow, what a photo opportunity (didn’t have my camera) and yep, besides apples, deer love to eat plants and at the beginning of the summer season, I had purchased $75 in hanging plants. Hoping to really put the scare into them and get them off the yard, I jumped up swinging my arms and hollering at the same time. Just as suspected, they were high-tailing it out of our yard and out through the hay fields on a dead-run. Friday morning as I was looking out our dining room window I noticed that two of the little bucks were back in our field. I took many pictures, not knowing if they would work or not because the deer were a ways off, down by the wheel line.
After loading the pictures on my computer, many of them were blurry so I went back to get in some more shots but the little bucks were not there. I looked all over but could not see them. You know the old say about not being able to see something right in front of your nose. This is where that saying comes in…………..those little four-point bucks were once again standing on the yard, eating apples. I decided it wasn’t going to do me any good to scare them off because in all reality, they would just keep coming back so I just had me a photo opportunity taking pictures from the windows of our home.

cool pictures. I love it...Janis...
That looks like a great swing. Your girls really love you.
I bet I know one gift you've used more than the swing... YOUR CAMERA! :c) ~Britter
You should open up your own zoo. I think your swing would rank along with your camera and computer. What would you do with all your time without your gifts. Max
Nice swing! Now you and evan can sit back romantically in the evenings. I love the velvet still on the antlers, so beautiful!
