No matter which direction you look, whether looking out our home windows or anywhere on our property, you see mountains in all directions. I just love the mountains and I couldn’t even imagine living anywhere that did not have mountains. What a majestic beauty there is to behold when looking at the mountains. Whether it’s winter, summer, spring or fall, the mountains tell a story. All of the following pictures were taken from or around our home. Ahhhh! A lot of “Take-Your-Breath-Away” moments, for sure.

Weekend Visitors (Brooke)
Brooke, a childhood friend of our daughter, and her two children came to visit for the weekend. It’s been 12-13 years since she moved away and I’ve only seen her one time since then….she came to visit when our daughter, Amber, got married four years ago. Her children were a delight……..very well mannered children. The first night they were here, Brooke got out a grill and grilled us some fish and veggies and cooked a peach cobbler in our Dutch oven. I’m always up for cooking and eating outside.
Their stay with us was not long….arrived on Saturday around 4:30 p.m. and left mid-morning, today. We really had a nice visit and while Brooke was getting everything packed and ready to head out, the children just kind of hung around…..literally!
Entryway Make-Over….Part 2
Yeah! I finally finished decorating the wall above my new Bombay entryway desk. With the desk and the wall, I now have a spot in my home that will always look good….until I decide I need another change, right? I’ve been wanting to get this done for a few weeks now and this weekend I finally got to it and I love the results. The only change I want to make is to use a different color of ribbon to hang down from the rod to the pictures.
I also bought a bunch of different colored scarves that I can scrunch up and put on top of the dresser so I can change it for different looks during holidays. Where fall is coming, I wanted to see what it would look like with one of the scarves so I picked out a scarf in beige and brown tones. I’m excited to decorate this area for the different holidays. Come to think of it, I can even change the ribbon to match the holidays, too.
At first, I was just looking for a picture to put above the desk when someone (I think it was my daughter) said, “are you going to put family pictures there?” Brilliant…….now why didn’t I think of that?!
There is a place in Lehi, Utah (Rod Works) where I purchased the rod that hangs above our family photos. They have many different sizes and styles of rods to choose from. Besides rods, this place carries loads of items to decorate your home. I purchased this rod a year ago thinking I was going to put it above my fireplace mantle but it was not long enough and just didn’t look right. I almost took it back to the store but I just ran out of time…………whew, glad I didn’t take the time to take it back because it is the perfect fit for my entryway!

Fall Creek Waterfall
Yesterday, August 8, 2013, I went with a group of ladies and some children to a place called Fall Creek. It takes anywhere from 45 minutes to 1 hour to get there from our home, but it was well worth the drive. This is the scene we saw when getting out of our vehicles.
Just to the left-hand side of this photo is where the trail begins and there was a sign there stating that it was 1 mile ahead. It was a very well groomed trail and an easy walk with very little incline. In fact the children made it easy and there was an 85 year old man there, too. I failed to take a picture but when you reach your destination, there is a viewing platform that overlooks the falls…..I borrowed this picture from the internet.
Our first views of the falls were breathtaking. I enjoy nature a lot…I could have stayed there all day. One of these days, I think I’ll go back, lounge around, take a picnic, a good book and enjoy the day.
After visiting, viewing and eating a small lunch, a few of us decided to take a trail and hike (not a flat trail and you even climb a few rocks) to the top of the falls.
In the next pictures, as you can tell, I was very fascinated by the length of the tree roots. Wow….didn’t realize that tree roots grew so large.
Continuing on and reaching the top…..no more sort-of trail.
Upon returning to our vehicles, we felt a few drops of rain, there were more clouds in the sky and some were getting dark.
On the way back to our homes, it started to rain pretty good but it didn’t last too long. Continuing on, taking a few last photos along the way before entering our driveway and being greeted by a doe, next to our fence. Home-sweet-home! Nature at it’s best.
