Thought I'd better get this blog post done before the end of the month. This year has some big changes in the church as far as lessons and visiting teaching are concerned. I think the changes are going to be great and will help us to stay in better contact with one another and seeing to the needs of others in charity and service.
HERE and HERE is just a sample of the new curriculum that will be taking place.
HERE is how visiting teaching will work. Rather than provide a specific message, each month we are given a different principle to help us minister more effectively to the sisters we visit. HERE is the visiting teaching principle for January. I like at the very end of the page where it states: How do we stop worrying about "what counts" for visiting teaching and instead focus on what each sister needs from her visiting teachers? It is that statement that I based my handout on.

Hi Marsha!
I can't believe I missed your Christmas blog! It was probably that I was sick too...truly life just kinda stops and yes, the tv takes control! Your tree is adorable, and I love the cute little painted ornaments, I don't think they ever go out of style. I'm kind of a Scrooge, Christmas isn't my favorite holiday...way too comercialised. I love the reason for the season though and try to really concentrate on that. The Nativity at the temple is beautiful! I'm glad you found the joy in the end!!
Visiting teaching has changed so much, but I like it. I've always thought that the numbers were too important. I love that we need to minister to our ladies...I like that... :0)
I hope you guys are feeling better, this gunk that is going around is a nasty one!
Please take care, sweet friend!
Hugs and Love,
Barb
I really love the new directives to become more aware of the needs of the sisters we visit and tailor our thoughts to those needs. You always do such awesome posters and handouts. I love your creativity.
Sending warm thoughts and hugs your way!
