My Trip To Boise Idaho

At the first part of May, 2017, I traveled to Boise to be with a friend who needed my help.  She is a "Diamond" (I think it was diamond) member of the Homewood Suites so that is where we stayed.  Upon arriving at the hotel and walking in the front doors, my eyes beheld this:

They even have a "Man Cave"...so-to-speak.  Anyways, that is what my friend called it.
They also provide a workout room, a place for laundry and a swimming pool.  This is actually the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in.  I don't know if it was because she was a diamond member, or what, but the staff was fabulous and it was royal treatment all the way!
Each day, our breakfast and dinner meals were provided in the dining area....or, if we chose to do so, we could take the meals to our rooms and eat.
I stayed on the third floor in room 334.....very nice room.
When I first walked into my room....or should I say, living quarters, my friend greeted me with fresh flowers on the table...
and another table stocked with all kinds of goodies.  I think I over-dosed on the Ding Dongs....love those!  I don't drink Coke, but the water was great.  I didn't get a picture, but the fridge and freezer was also stocked.
It was during my spare time in the evenings, sitting in this chair, that I learned to love HGTV!  I don't have cable or dish at home and watching all the home make-overs and searches for new homes was so enjoyable for me.  Who knew you could sit for such lengths of time watching someone get excited about remodeling or having someone else find a home for others....I didn't!  But, back to the chair.  Oh, Heaven!  When I first sat on this chair it was like "Plump"...I just sat on the hardest cushion.  But then, it slowly sank into something so comfortable.  I so wanted to ask the hotel if I could buy this chair.....REALLY....most comfortable chair, EVER!
My bedroom was huge.....with all the necessities needed except for a bathroom, which was just across from the bedroom.

And this next photo I had to throw in just to remember that sometimes I consider myself a real duh.  As I was riding the elevator up to my room and thinking/knowing I was alone, I happened to look up.  At seeing another person, it was a quick reaction (duh moment) and I took in a startled breath.  But in my defense, it only took me a moment to realize that there were mirrors on the ceiling of the elevator and it was "ME" that I saw.  I know, I know.....BIG DUH MOMENT!
After being in Boise almost a week, it was time to go home.  Just a few sights along the way....

Ward Father's Day Gifts......June 18, 2017

A week before Father's Day, I was in Idaho Falls and I thought about Father's Day for the father's in our ward.  I called the bishop and asked if anyone was doing anything for Father's Day and he stated that with all the busyness of the flooding in the valley that he had totally forgotten about Father's Day and asked if I would pick up some candy bar that we could hand out.  I looked in a few stores but they didn't have enough of one kind that we could give out (In my head, I'm thinking all of one kind so we could attach a saying on each candy bar) so I headed over to Sam's Club, knowing they always supplied items in bulk.  As I was standing in front of the different kinds of boxed candy, I was trying to think of sayings that would be fun to put on the candy bars.  At the moment, I couldn't come up with anything so I decided to just buy Snickers.  It's like....who doesn't enjoy Snickers.
After returning home, I got on the internet and started looking for clever, candy bar sayings and I finally came up with this one....tweaked a bit to fit the occasion.  Since time was short, I decided not to make something to put on each candy bar and to just make two mini posters and stick them on the boxed candy bar lids.
I think they worked wonderful and to be honest, I don't think that men really pay too much attention to the fact that there may or may not be a sign attached to each and every candy bar.  Sticking a poster on each box of candy bars worked for me!

Eyed Hawk-Moth (Smerinthus Ocellata)

At the beginning of June, I went to visit a friend and when I approached her door, I noticed an Eyed Hawk-Moth.  I've only seen this type of moth one other time and it was in the year 2015.  We had a few of them that were on our screen door and our back yard swing
I thought the contrast of the green door with the vintage style door knob plate and the moth was so beautiful that even though I had blogged about it before, I just couldn't resist taking more photos.

Mother's Day Flowers

While looking through some older photos I had taken, I came across my Mother's Day flowers.  The Young Women in our ward went to the Priesthood one Sunday and asked if any of them would like to purchase flowers for their wife.  Of course, this was a fantastic idea with a win-win situation. I think most all the men got flowers and the Young Women earned money for girls camp.  I love that the Young Women painted canning jars to put the flowers in.
When they were delivered, I gave the Young Woman a hug and told her thank you.  Her reply was... "don't thank me, thank your husband".  Too Funny, huh?!
