Now let's see.....hmmmmm.....how does that old saying go?....."The further I go, the behinder I get?"....or something like that. It seems that the past few months has been difficult for me to get up the ambition to write on my blog. I feel I need to do it but when it comes right down to the actual process, I keep putting it off. I should have actually written this blog in the beginning of December. On December 3, 2016, I went to the Nashville Tribute Band Christmas concert in Idaho Falls with my daughter and her husband. It was a pretty quick sell-out crowd and the only seats we could get by each other was for me to sit right behind them, which I actually ended up enjoying more because we weren't always leaning across someone to talk to someone else.
This concert was great on one hand, but a disappointment on the other. This group can put on a great show and I was so excited but the problem was, they sang very few Christmas songs and sang a lot of songs that they had sung at a concert I attended earlier this summer. Don't get me wrong, they were good, but I WANTED CHRISTMAS!

Designed Frost Scenery
Looks can really be deceiving, can't they?! When you look at this picture, you see snow on the ground, but you don't really see how cold it is. The sun is shining, everything looks peaceful, but the air temperature..................frigid! During the night, it was -11 degrees and it was still a negative temperature when I took this picture yesterday (1.6.2017), which was a little after noon.
I was trying to get a photo of some frost designs on our outside door but they did not show up. They look like little smudges on the photo but when all was said and done, I really like how the unintended photo turned out. I was quite surprised to even see that I had a pretty landscape when all I was seeing at the time was designed frost on the window.

Christmas Eve Snow
I'm Dreaming of a White............................. So, so beautiful. It snowed almost the entire Christmas Eve day. It just kept falling, falling, and falling. We ended up with over a foot of snow! Yes indeed, we had a beautiful, white Christmas!

January 2017 Visiting Teaching Handout & Poster.......Relief Society Is a Temporal and Spiritual Work
The fact that the Visiting Teaching message starting off the new year is "The Purpose of Relief Society", tell me how important visiting teaching really is.
In the last part of the message, the Prophet Joseph Smith stated this: "The Relief Society was not just another group of women trying to do good in the world. It was different. It was 'something better' because it was organized in priesthood authority. Its organization was a necessary step in the unfolding of God's work on earth."
Carole M. Stephens, First Counselor in the Relief Society General Presidency, said a lot in one statement......Relief Society is a Temporal and Spiritual Work.
I pray that all LDS women will take heed to this message and feel its importance in looking out for one another....tending to needs and being of service.
