Hoover Halloween

Halloween night in our small little town is high with anticipation.  The reason......the HOOVER HOUSE!  The buzz all over school/town is about going to the Hoover house.  A few days before Halloween, you start to see the blackbirds on top of the roof, the clue that it's on it's way.  All these blackbirds were handmade by Mr. Hoover.  The main crow on the chimney stays up year round and wears different attire for various holidays.

This is the hot spot of the year.  The Hoover's (Mr. Hoover) plans everything out and goes to the extreme to decorate.  It was darker this year so the photos aren't as good as in previous years but the enjoyment was top notch.

I decided to go back the next morning and get a few pictures in daylight.  Not the same affect but you get the gist.  The third, fourth and fifth pictures are of Mr. Hoovers grave/bone yard.  The entire field next to his home was covered with crossed grave markers, bones, and skulls.

The following pictures were taken last year.  Each year is different and just as exciting as the last.  If you like Halloween, this is the place to be.

Godzilla Raccoon

This is my first blog posted that I don't have a picture to post along with it.  It all started this evening as I was headed out the door to go to Young Women's.  Immediately upon stepping out our back door, I heard a loud rustling in the tree just outside our door.  I looked at the tree trying to figure out if the wind was blowing or what.  The eerie thing was, the sound continued, non-stop.  At this point, I didn't know what I was thinking but strange, very strange.  As I started to walk to my car, which is right by the tree, a Godzilla Raccoon dropped out of the tree.  He was so huge, I actually heard a thump sound as he hit the ground.  He took off  running and I started screaming for my husband.  My husband came out the door but by that time, the raccoon was clear over by the gate that leads out to our fields.  My husband looked and asked...."what is that"? (he thought it was a dog, it was that huge).  I told him it was a huge raccoon.  Whew, my heart has actually slowed down enough that I can write this post.  Evan seems to think that the raccoon will come back to get the crab apples out of the tree.  If and when he does come back,  I will be ready, with camera in hand!...............................Sorry, but I just couldn't do it.  I just couldn't put up a blog without a picture so I went to images on Google and found this picture.  I feel better now.

Cameras In Heaven

I was thinking today as I was driving around the valley after church, looking for picture moments.  I come up with the conclusion that I sure hope there are cameras in heaven.  Think of all the family group photos you could take, with groups so large it would be difficult to get the entire family in one shot.  And then think of the beauty.  I'm sure it is much more beautiful in heaven than it is here.  But then again, am I living good enough to wonder about cameras in heaven.......?  Whatever it is, or will be, I'm sure a loving Heavenly Father will have beauty for all of us, and then some!  In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the beauty I captured today.

These next two picture are down a lane headed to an old place (Trout Haven) that has since been blocked off.  To get these pictures, I drove right up next to the gate and shot over the gate.  Gate or no gate, I couldn't let these beauties get away.

This picture shows the beautiful, deepness of blue at the Mackay Reservoir.

And this one I took because I couldn't believe there were boaters on the reservoir...two to be exact.

Would you look at all the dark, green moss over the rocks in the river off the mine hill bridge.  I couldn't believe how dark and pretty it really was, plus the reflections of the water over the moss just topped it off.

Majestic Sky

I headed to town tonight to hurry and pick up some candy for the little Kinders on Monday.  As I was coming out of the grocery store, it was starting to get dark and the sky was majestic looking with it's dark hues of blues, pinks, oranges, and yellows.

As I drove around town taking a few more pictures, it was getting later and the sky had lost a lot of it's color but with the moon, the darker sky and the accents of the dark trees and mountains, this, in itself was just as beautiful.
